Last week we talked about my Top 5 Financial Twitter Chats. I wanted to introduce you to some of these people in further detail. At the top of my list was the weekly #WBChat with @Wisebread. The Wisebread website is about living large on a small budget. Wisebread is run by a community of bloggers instead of just one. Their missions as stated on the website is to help you discover:
Savvy shopping tips to keep you stylish, sassy, and solvent.
Financial advice that is easy to understand and easy to apply.
Career and money-making ideas that’ll add zeros to your bank account.
General adulthood know-how your parents forgot to tell you.
Their philosophy is that you can have fun saving money. Their writers have a wide range of backgrounds and expertise including financial consultants, homemakers, journalists, career counselors, and professors. Wisebread was created in 2006 by three friends who decided to start a company together. Besides the great writers, the community manager, Kelly Whalen, has an extensive background in writing about personal finance on her own personal blog Centisble Life. She is the one who runs the weekly Twitter Chat. Topics for the Twitter chat vary every week and they usually choose the following weeks topic from suggestions at the end of the Twitter chat. The chat is held Thursdays at 3pm ET. Follow @Wisebread on Twitter along with hashtag #WBChat. Fore more information on how to participate in a Twitter Chat, review our previous post on What is a Twitter Chat and How to Participate.
