What is a vision board?
You must have heard many times — a picture is worth a thousand words. Means a simple picture is more effective to covey a complex idea than thousands of words.
A vision board works on this exact same principle. A vision board is a collage of inspiring pictures and text that represent your dreams and goals.
It is a beautiful presentation of your aspirations and goals in an attractive way that motivates you to chase them. That’s why it is also called dream board.
Main components of a vision board
Let’s talk about how a vision board is made. You can divide your vision board in different parts. Starting with:
Goals – Think about the goals and aspirations you want to achieve in life. It can be landing your dream job, achieving financial freedom, family, relation, health, or travel related goals. These goals become the main theme of your vision board.
Images – Images are the key element in the vision board that connect you to your dreams. Chose the physical images of things that best represents your goals. Example: pic of your dream home or car.
These are some of the examples of the images that you need for your vision board:
- Inspiring personalities – Pictures of successful peoples whom you admire and are the source of your motivation. Like — Oprah Winfrey, Kobe Bryant, Jim carry, Tony Robbins.
- Images of your favorite travel destination like Eiffel Tower, Paris, or an exotic beach.
- Health & fitness goals – A girl doing yoga or meditation.
- Dream career – Picture of a vet, lawyer or be a boss of a business.
- Become rich – Picture of a bank check with your desired figure filled on it.
- Finding your soulmate – Picture of couple holding hands
Texts – A vision board is incomplete without some inspiring texts. Every day when you wake up, you need to see some powerful quotes that motivates you towards your goals.
You can use motivating quotes like: never give up, dream it, I can do it, financially free, work hard, be the change.
Powerful words like – gratitude, blessed, kindness, pray, passion, healthy, family, love, believe.
Also try affirmations like: I’m focused, I’m confident, I’m strong, I’m proud of myself.
Vision Board Categories
Your vision board must resonate with the areas of your life you want to improve. Divide your vision board into five or six categories.
Career goal – study, job or business goals
Financial freedom goals – saving goals or to become debt free
Health & fitness goals – lose weight, become fit
Relationship and romance goals – finding the right partner
Travel goals – bucket list, adventures you want to try
Lifestyle aspirations – buying a dream house, car, or luxury holiday
Spiritual goals
